LET ME ASK A QUESTION...SERIOUSLY..
I guess this is directed to the black Mayweather fans..
(From a minority's stand point)-"Are you guys really happy and proud of the Mayweather family, as a representative of the black community?"

I have heard many people say that the Mayweathers give black americans a bad reputation because of the dishonorable actions that they do outside the ring...JUST NOT GOOD ROLE MODELS FOR ANY COMMUNITY.--black, white, brown, yellow..etc..

I am a minority as well..and I know if one of ours is dishonorable...we feel ashame..

Do you guys feel the same?--OR you guys just don't care...as long as PBF is making money...

So, what do you guys think?

I know the Filipinos are really proud to say that Manny is one of theirs....

Good point pare. You are a pinoy in America i take it.I'm an American in the Philippines.I don't approve of Mayweather sr's big mouth. They are not my role model.

Pacquiao is not humble here in the Philippines bro.He has cheated on his wife and kids many times with the Filipina actresses here. The actresses have admitted the love affairs many times on pinoy t.v.One claims to be pregnant by him.

Since you are young i will tell you this. Please don't put your heart into no Sports,Entertainer or Political figures because they will 99% let you down before their career is over.

The best role models for me is my father, uncles and grandfather's and some of my teacher's that helped me out in my life.

For one thing what did they do dishonorable you talking about something someone brought up to make you hate the man.I never herd anything bad about the family and yes I am happy and proud of the Mayweather family. For one thing to get things straight when you black and successful You are a target from the the door people don't like President Obama because he's black the media still can't address him as president they call him Mr.Obama.Please Mayweather became sucessful as well as he's uncle and father. He has a right to enjoy he's success but them media ***** destroy that by looking for any and every ****** up to say about him. What about the fact that they train young fighters to keep them off the street and out of trouble,or how many fighters they have trained to become champs. Also a recording studio for people that have hard times of getting recording deals,or better yet money that's put into the community and churches. For one things boxer are human like us and seems like people forget that. The only thing we should be worried about is them getting in that ring and given it their all for the money we paid to see.I don't pay to see what you do outside the ring I can care less to answer your question.Get in the ring and fight let us not turn this into some kind of tv reality show.Mayweather retired and was forced to comeback while Joe Calzaghe retired without fighting Chad Dawson.I rest my case.

Why is this question targetted towards black people. Isn't Mayweather American? In your question you said that Filipinos are proud of their country men. So you are talking about patriotism and nationality. Why are you jumping past Mayweather's nationality and going to race? Shouldn't you be asking how do Americans feel about Mayweather?

Also in your question, you stated that the Mayweathers represent the black community. The black community has never elected the Mayweathers as our representatives. Black Americans are proud of all Americans who are successful regardless of race. We are proud of Lance Armstrong the exact same way that we are proud of Muhammed Ali. Black Americans are not ashamed of Mayweather's family or anybody else who work hard to get out of poverty. However, the Mayweathers are not our representative. They are just athletes who entertain us just like anybody else.

Black Americans are not sitting around right defining themselves by the success of the Mayweathers when we have bigger heroes such as Barack Obama or Bill Gates or any other successful American regardless of race.

The Mayweather family doesn't have nothing to do with me personally, I like fights. Who am I to judge the Mayweather's or anyone else. There are many different personalities here on earth, who are we as people to judge anyone. They may not be the most educated people on the planet earth of any race, but so what? If you were in a situation and they were the only people here to save you or someone you Loved, would you turn them down because you are ashamed of them? I know this may not win a popularity vote, but get over it. You aren't the judge or the jury to be able to judge anyone. And to try to get Blacks to put down other Blacks, or people to put down other people, come on now I hope you are a better person than that. Happy Holidays to you, your family, and all of those who got it twisted in thinking being critical of others is the best way to go. May Peace be with you.

I agree that Mayweather may be looking at easier fights such as rematch with Hatton or Sugar Shane.

blood vs. Urine? Usada clears up fuss over mayweather-pacquiao drug testing feud

by josh slagter | the grand rapids press

december 24, 2009, 11:55am

the notion of bad blood interfering with the negotiations between floyd mayweather and manny pacquiao's representatives wasn't far fetched. Neither camp gets along with the other.

But with tuesday's announcement from mayweather's camp that pacquiao has refused the olympic-style random drug testing, tensions have reached a new high.

The nevada state athletic commission uses urine tests before and after fights to check for steroids other and performance-enhancing drugs. A blood test is required to earn a one-year license to fight in nevada, too.

Mayweather's camp is demanding the u.s. Anti-doping agency conduct random blood tests during training. Pacqiuao's promoter, bob aurm, has said his fighter has agreed to be blood tested three times: In january, 30 days before the fight and then right after the fight.

Travis tygart, the ceo of usada, told kevin iole of yahoo! Sports that both urine and blood tests are needed to determine if a fighter is clean.

"there is no urine-based tested for human-growth hormone," tygart said. "it doesn’t show up in the urine. It’s only a blood-based test. That’s true of a number of prohibited substances, particularly those that would enhance and aid a boxer.”

tygert also added the schedule arum is proposing won't work, because a fighter would have the advantage of knowing when he'd be tested.

“that kind of window is totally unacceptable,” tygart said. “it would provide a huge loophole for a cheater to step through and get away with cheating.”

dr. Gary wadler, an internal medicine physician and chairman of the world anti-doping agency’s prohibited list and methods sub-committee, supported tygar's position.

“the fundamental principle is that the time and place of testing is in the domain of the governing body, not of the athlete,” wadler told yahoo! Sports. “it would lose all its validity if the athlete could pick and choose when he is going to be tested and for what he’s going to be tested for and how he’s going to be tested. They’re sophisticated enough now that if someone wanted to, you could play the calendar to your advantage."

and to arum's notion that pacquaio will feel "weakened" by getting his blood drawn close to the fight? Victor conte, the founder of bay-area laboratory cooperative (balco), said the tests would have no physical effect on either fighter.

“that amount would be less than one-half of one percent (of the total blood in the body),” conte told yahoo! Sports. “it’s not going to have any effect, the drawing of blood. Could it have some mental effect? That’s the only down side of that. It’s certainly not going to have any physical effect, giving blood before a fight.”

the implementation of drug testing remains the only sticking point on negotiations for a fight that could break all of boxing's revenue records.

Will either side blink in time for the fight to happen? It doesn't sound like mayweather adviser leonard ellerbe plans to back off on his demands.

"they're backed up against the wall. Either they're going to step up to the plate and do this, or my guy's not stepping up into the ring and fighting," ellerbe said on "the huge show" on wednesday. "if you have nothing to hide, why not subject yourself to this testing?"

Floyd is just finding a way to get out of the fight.
