Question:
Does anyone still believe that Floyd Mayweather is afraid to fight Manny Pacquiao?

When negotiations failed in 2009 due to Pacquiao's refusal to take olympic style drug testing, people read the story two ways. Some felt Pacquiao was hiding something and that excuses such as being afraid of needles or personal health were all bull ****. Some believed it was a smokescreen by Mayweather, but today OSDT is being accepted throughout boxing to get rid of PED's as stars such as Berto and Peterson have already tested positive. Some said Mayweather was afraid, some said Pacquiao was afraid, but with Pacquiao's recent loss to Bradley and Bob Arum inconsistency as a promoter (being unfair to Bradley and saying once again that fighting Mayweather is not an option) does anyone believe anything that these two have previously said? Is anyone still under to ridiculous idea that Pacquiao deserves a 50/50 split with Mayweather? With all the fighters Maywether has fought and conquered, and how Manny Pacquiao looks to be declining steadily after accusations of using PED's surfaced, does anyone still believe he is at all afraid to fight the Pacman? As you can tell from my slightly biased question, I believe that anyone who thinks Pacquiao either deserves a 50/50 split or should not have to take the blood test is wrong and is blinded by Bob Arum's influence and propaganda. They built Pacquiao's career off of Floyd's name, have made much money fighting guys associated to Mayweather and have taken every chance to take away from the legacy of Floyd. If anything, I think Mayweather is dying to get into the ring and prove all those blindly following Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum wrong.

Everyone in their right mind knows, it was Floyd who has been making excuses to avoid the fight. Only the die hard Mayweather fans, like the professional fighter with a battered brain, Cali-D, who keeps blaming Pacquiao for the failed negotiations.

These are what Floyd demanded--- the USADA testing which was not even required by the Nevada Boxing Commission. The bigger purse and all the proceeds of the PPV. That Pacquiao train only in the U.S. under his watchful eyes.

Then finally he says I won't fight strong opponents because I don't want to end up like Ali. Case closed.

I don't agree because whether Mayweather's intentions to clean up the sport were noble or not, he's not a trust worthy character. He's pointing fingers at somebody else, but he's the one in prison right now. I just would not trust him or his intentions, that is not a guy I would do business with. Not that I'd do it with Bob Arum either. Floyd is the one who had 42 previous fights and never asked anybody for a test, he also had a couple years retirement and never pursued any type of drug testing reform within the sport. So how can he come off like he cares so much about the greater good? It always seemed more like a personal thing against Pacquaio.

I don't totally call Floyd out, there is cheating the sport, but Pacquiao has since then agreed to testing. Besides the USADA is apparently incompetent if you noticed how they handled this whole Lance Armstrong thing, idiots and corrupt. Radio isotope testing is more state of the art and it doesn't require drawing blood, these should have been suggested.

And this whole 50/50 issue, I mean you really think Arum and Pacquiao are going to take less 50/50 when they can fight someone else and keep practically all of it. So I could see where negotiations would break down right there. It takes two to make a fight, compromises, mutualism, so more of this his fault he fault bullish*t.

This problem can be disected 100 ways. Mayweather fans have excuses for Mayweather and blame Pacquiao for everything. And Pacquiao fans have excuses for Pacquiao and blame Mayweather for everything.

I believe that both are to blame for this fight not happening. At one time, you didn't really have the option of saying who you were and were not going to fight. They wanted to prove that they were the best boxer. If you were the champ, you fought the number 1 contender, period. Muhammed Ali got punished by Joe Frazier in their first bout. But he wanted to fight him again. Then after he won, both men couldn't wait to fight again, even though they nearly killed each other. After losing and having his jaw broke by Ken Norton, they fought each other again only 6 months later. And after George Foreman destroyed Joe Frazier and everyone warned Ali that Foreman would probably hurt him, Ali still fought him.

That is just one example of how it didn't matter what the circumstances are, the 2 best fighters should fight each other, and more importantly, should want to fight each other. I think Floyd and Manny are both timid about fighting each other. It has been hyped up so much that both men are afraid to face the consequences of losing. It would be a devastating loss and a big hit to thier careers and egos.

Also, Manny is considered by most as the best pound for pound boxer and losing would strip this title. Floyd is undefeated and doesn't want to jeopardize his record.

Floyd has never had his bell rung. The closest he came to this is when Mosely made his knees buckle. He knows that Manny can and probably will connect with some clean, hard shots. And Manny's weakness is good counter-punchers, which is Floyd's specialty.

So I think both of them are scared to fight. Whether Floyd's setting up hurdles and making it nearly impossible to fight, or Manny's hiding behind Arum; I don't think either want the fight.

I don't know what to believed anymore but if Floyd Mayweather Jr. really want to fight Manny Pacquiao, then he should exert some effort to make it possible. It wouldn't be easy to understand a person who said he want to fight but makes all kind of obstacles in terms of demands. What happened before is the things of the past and even that is never justified. It is like asking somebody to jump in a lake first otherwise he won't fight. Nobody is in a position to tell anybody what he want them to do and still express a genuine intentions in fighting. It is not a child's game.

Floyd is not eager to fight Pacquiao but to get him off his back and he can never do that unless he fight him in the ring. These PED thing is just a fantasy or a myth and unless anybody can show something, we should stop these ridiculous accusations. I am sure you don't want anybody of accusing you or any of your family member of any wrong doings without proving it. There is no difference between him and us.

The fighters you mentioned were caught using PED while Manny was being tested in his every fight and found negative. Floyd used Xylocaine which is illegal in other states except in his home state of Nevada but you never mention about it, the reason why he fight solely in Nevada.

Manny deserved all what he was asking. He was at par with Floyd in terms of stature and Floyd will only make the kind of money he projected to make by fighting him. Pacquiao already made so much bending just to accommodate the fight and it is now Floyd's turn to give the fight a chance if his motive is genuine and real.

Floyd found the perfect excuse out of that fight. Drug testing. He never tested anyone before the Pacquiao fight and all of a sudden here come all this Pacroid ********. After the first try to make it happen, he makes all the fighters take blood. That is unfair to opponents and unfair to Team Pacquiao.

Please don't bring up any of the weight drained Cotto BS. Your talking about a 7 POUND difference. Are you serious?!?!? Weight drained is fighting a lightweight when your a welterweight. FLOYD!

Floyd isn't afraid. He just wants to stay undefeated that's all but when he does retire he knows he will be known as a puss as he only fights people below him and not boxers on his level. No point fighting now. Manny is soon retiring. Floyd is sh*it!

Mayweather was also using steroids and was caught 3 times and paid it off. When he complained about Pac using, thats when the peeps May paid knew that May must of been scared or something. And then the rumors started that May was scared. Plus May's father said no to the fight because he fears for his son's life. But at the same time May says he doesn't listen to his father, except this one it seems.

Pacquiao is overrated and Marquez exposed it.

Only reason this fight never happened is because if Manny had lost years ago to Floyd, his "run to fame," never would have happened. PERIOD.

2) " before, he said i wont do the test...now, he say i'll do the test but i want 50/50"....ei, didnt you promise to fight pac if he "just take the test"...and now it's about the split?....what's next? ok, forget the split...cant you even atleast make him another deal if you really want to fight?

3)"when this thing(boxing) is over, bob, i need you to pay my bills"...wtf!!! you're a fu

4)"ali situation...pushed in the fights that he shouldnt have even been involved w/"...

whaaaaat? now ali's full of regrets?!!!.....i understand you dont wana end up like ali, i really do...you dont wana be pushed in the fight you dont want to, of course, for self preservation, for health...parkinson's disease is scary...yea floyd...we understand you a lot but...pac seems to have lost his power if you've watched his previous fights...i dont think he's capable of sending you to ali's parkinsons disease ward...so please, stop being paranoid and fight him already.

5) friendly advise: fight pac now before the mafia gets bored and comes in, force you to make the fight possible or else...specially now they heard you said you're retiring after 5 more fights and you wont be fighting no more strong champs. you know the mob, the smell of money doesnt escapes them...who knows, maybe you'll meet one of them in prison, gives you an offer you cant resist, hahaha
