What is YOUR personal favorite fight? Not necessarily the best, but favorite?

I loved Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Donny LaLonde in 1988. I was only about 15 then, and I loved the idea of Ray Leonard fighting a much bigger guy (even though they did that 168 catchweight thing).

I met Donny LaLonde a couple of years ago up in Winnipeg when I went to see him fight Virgil Hill. A really really cool dude. I thought Ray Leonard was nice too every time I've met him.

So just for me personally, it was a good fight, a fun concept, and I'm a fanboy of both. So it's my favorite.

My favorite competitive fight was Corrales vs Castillo. I've never ever seen a guy knock someone out after being knocked down twice in the same round. My favorite most dominant fight was when Mayweather was on his game against Gatti. Mayweather's quick combos in the 5th and 6th round were phenomenal. One of the most brilliant performances I've ever seen. Gatti is no slouch but Mayweather made him look like an amateur.

Chris Eubank vs Nigel Benn fight no 1, in the uk that fight was a really big deal at the time and had alot of hype arouned it. Both fighters were big charecters who couldent stand each other, the fight was good too a real back and forth battle with Eubank just getting the better of Benn and KO ing him in the latter rouneds.

Hagler-Hearns - April 15, 1985. Las Vegas NV The pomp and circumstance surrounding this fight was AMAZING. Everyone in Hollywood was there, the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife, and the fight.......well, if you've never seen it, find it on youtube or something. The first round was unbelievable and the ending dramatic. A war for the ages.

Bowe Holyfield 1,Before that fight Holyfiend didn't have many fans.Holyfield was never able to gain what he finally did in round 10 of that fight.The respect of all boxing fans who saw it.Round 10 of Bowe Holyfield 1 was the best round i have ever seen and I'd argue its the best round in heavyweight history.Holyfield had a bigger heart then he ever got credit for.I never saw a guy take such a beating from a much bigger heavyweight and come back the way he did towards the end of that round.Amazing moment from the most under appreciated fighter of our era.

Gatti-Ward 1. What a great back and forth match this was. I watch this fight over and over on my computer though i'm not a big fan of either Gatti or Ward. The other two fights were great but this one was a true war.

Ray Mancini and Alexis Arguella... that was a f-cking bloodbath!! There was also a local boy from Cranston, Rhode Island named Vinnie Pazienza who carried on a blood fued with Greg Haugen for years!

I just watch UFC and pride fights now.

I think don king ruined boxing.

I didn't see the Leonard/Lalonde fight.

I think Leonard/Hearns might be my favorite.I really liked both of those fighters.

The 1st fight between Corrales and Castillo. I had a backyard full of people and we put my big screen on the back deck. Greatest comeback I have ever seen, it was even better with a yard full of people screaming.

Firpo v.s. Dempsey

of course way before my time but still in my opinion the best ever heres a summary. to be honest best ive seen was a said ouali fight TKO in second round it was magic but heres the story of Firpo v.s. Dempsey :



Firpo challenged world heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey at New York on September 14, becoming the first Latin American in history to challenge for the title. Firpo was floored seven times in the first round of the bout, before he trapped Dempsey against the ropes and launched a combination that sent the champion out of the ring. Dempsey hit his head against a writer's typing machine, and for a moment, it looked as if Firpo would become world Heavyweight champion. But Dempsey was helped into the ring at the count of nine, and he eventually knocked out Firpo in the second round. This fight has been regarded by critics and experts as one of the greatest fights in history. Despite losing, Firpo gained substantial fame all over Latin America after this bout, as many people on different parts of that region spoke about his feat of dropping Dempsey.
