I was expecting this from the start, so it's really not a breaking news to me.
Dela Hoya rematch and Pacquiao match had been agreed and those two bouts will give him much more money. For somebody that prioritizes money, this should be a no-brainer. But still, there was no ink on paper.
What will make us think that he will fight Mosley, a high risk opponent that will give him less money? I hope he does but this is the truth.
He's a businessman, he's not after legacy, this is a fact. If you're a businessman, you're gonna try to think on how you will get more money without taking a downfall. This has been his actions recently, it's undeniable.
I want to see Mosley-Mayweather match. There's still some time left and I want to be optimistic about it. But the way I see it, Mayweather is probably asking himself the "what if" questions, he's a businessman after all.
What if he loses convincingly? People won't watch him anymore.
What if he wins by a large margin? People will force him to fight Pacquiao.
What if he wins a close match? Mosley will get a rematch.
What if he loses a close match? Mosley will offer him a rematch with less money because haters won't be watching him anymore.
No matter which way he goes, asss-kicking result is so possible.
With his money mentality (or as Arum likes to call him a 'psychological coward' or as Mosley like to call him a 'picker'), it will be hard for him to move on because whatever happens in the future, he won't be safe.
If he does sign the paper, good for him, Mosley, boxing, and all of us.
