Question:
Anyone notice a suspicious pattern with Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Carlos Baldomir - already beaten 9 (yes, you saw that right, 9!) times by unknown boxers
ODLH - already broken down by B-hop, SSM, and Felix Trinidad
Ricky Hatton - looked like crap againt Luis Collazo at Welterweight - so much he went back down to Jr. Welter
Juan Manuel Marquez - had already been through 2 wars with Pac and lost 3 times already to Pac, Chris John and Freddie Norwood! Not to mention, fought his whole life at Lightweight and below. Went up two weight divisions at the age of 36 to fight the SELF PROCLAIMED P4P king.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Had absolutely no problems with the commission's drug testing protocal and never uttered the words "olympic style drug testing" until his fight with Pac was almost finalized.

Believe it or not people were calling for the Baldomir fight at the time, hadn't lost in several years, and he was the lineal champ.

ODLH - Biggest fight monetarily he could make, at that time anyone would of fought DLH just because beating him brings more paydays.

Ricky Hatton - He did look like crap against Luis Collazo. I think when he saw the way english fans took over vegas he saw a huge monetary opportunity, Hatton called him out after the fight, and it was an easy fight for him to make.

JMM - He was #2 P4P, with his loses he was still considered one of the best fighters in the world. I think he came out of retirement seeking a Pacquiao fight, since people have been calling for it since the DLH fight. The JMM in my eyes was a comparitive fight, it really stirred up Pac/May talk afterwards. In my eyes it was a brilliant choice, he looked great against Pac's toughest opponent, and he knew regardless of who he fought for a warm up it would be looked down upon by certain people. His dominant/easy win over Marquez was similar to Pacquiao's wins over his common opponents in the way that when Pacquiao fought them they were not the same fighters because of weight drain, or previous beatings.

No matter how you look at it, Mayweather has achieved what he set out to achieve. He is in demand for big money fights, he's said it and you've said it: Mayweather fights for paychecks, his pattern has led him to getting the most money he could possible get. Can't knock him for that, he told you what he was about. Manny's team tries to knock Mayweather, but they followed his blueprint.

All your doing is finding the downside to every opponent he's faced and using it in an argument to discredit him. The same thing can be done towards Manny Pacqauio or any other fighter for that matter. No offense because I have never disliked you but I don't think anything you've stated has any real logic.

Carlos Baldimor had nine losses but at the time of the Mayweather fight he hadn't lost in 8 years.

Ricky Hatton was in the prime of his career with a 43- O record coming off a 4th round KO

Floyd Mayweather fought Oscar Dela Hoya in his 1st fight at Jr. Middleweight. Oscar was coming of a KO victory and he got to fight at a weight that didn't alter his performance.

Floyd Mayweather beat Juan Manuel Marquez after a two year layoff, Marquez was a comeback opponent who was also coming off a KO victory,

All of Floyd Mayweather's last four opponents have been coming off KO victory's before fighting Mayweather, Dela Hoya KO'd Mayorga, Hatton KO'd Castillo, Marquez KO'd Diaz, and Mosley KO'd Margarito. The last four guys have come of impressive performances but once Floyd beats them their old, slow, and out of their primes.

Nepster good sir, all your claims and statements are the very ones that fuel and give truth it the double standard in boxing. Who had David Diaz beat to give so much damn credit to Manny for winning a 6th title? Oscar had not fought at 147 lbs since his 2001 fight with Arturo Gatti, plus he had been "worn down" and yet Freddie Roach decided to have Manny take him on instead of being a "true warrior champion" (as yall like to refer to him) he could've faced Nate Campbell who was the new undisputed lightweight champ but instead went for a guy who looked like he had come out of a concentration camp and when he beats him all of a sudden he's the #1 ATG. He beats a DEFEATED Ricky Hatton (even Roach said he wasn't the same when he saw him fight Lazcano) and had internal problems with his camp, but when Pacquiao KO's him, "OH MY GOSH, HE THE BEST". If Manny went up in weight to fight at 147, why can't JMM and why did Pacquiao choose to fight Cotto when he could've fought Mosley who was ranked HIGHER in both p4p and 147 rankings, not to mention Shane had just beat the top dog Marg and this would've truly been Manny taking on the best, but no. Manny chose a guy who had also gone into a huge war with Margarito and LOST! To albeit suspicions of a dirty loss cause of Marg's plaster gloves which can emotionally scar a man since its possible that he (Cotto) was beaten by something that wasn't 100% human, Manny sat ringside and saw how vunerable Cotto was (and Clottey perhaps) so did he do...he went for the less dangerous fighter in Cotto, don't give me this "Cotto beat Mosley" because Mosley DESTROYED Margarito. And what's wrong with Olympic style testing, so what if Mayweather brought it up with Manny, will stricter drug testing hurt the reputation of the sport?

Manny and Roach's camp have done a very good job at implementing politics in a sport where true warriors didn't care about compromise or conditionality. If were going to start criticizing, let's hold everyone to the same standard before we begin.

@ JP, dude, listen to what I'm saying and then listen to yourself. I am not trying to justify Mayweather's win over JMM, but all I'm saying that JMM wouldn't go up to WW, if he didn't think he had a chance, doesn't JMM have the right to try go into a new division? Plus, JMM had called Mayweather out after the Diaz fight so its not like PBF just picked him out of the blue. That is so self righteous of you to say "which fighters can go and can't up in weight. And you're still not warranting Pacquiao's choice of fighting Cotto instead of Shane Mosley, what you've just proved to me is that, the facts are, Manny Pacquiao ducked Shane Mosley.

@Normen Bates

Baldomir undefeated in 8 years? Yes undefeated by fighting nobodies. He got lucky with Zab Judah is Judah really a P4P caliber fighter? Cotto and Clottey broke him down also. Baldomir's undefeated streak is like PBF Jr.'s 40 fight streak. If you can really call it a streak. He lost to ODLH unofficially the same way you're harping about Pacquiao losing to JMM unofficially.

@Formarkiz

Again Floyd Jr beating JMM is a fluke. He forced a 135lbs'er to go up and meet him at 144 only to tell him, Oops I choose to fight at 146lbs. I won't attempt to loose 2 more lbs since that will weaken me. Why not accept $600K and just turn a blind eye on this. OK? He's one @$*h0l3 who can't even stick to simple rules like the catchweight. How will I expect him to really follow this Olympic style testing he's selling?

@SirVon1s

"Negotiating a fight to your advantage is the norm in boxing. It's just not usual that someone has the power to negotiate their own terms against Pacquiao"

So are you telling me this Olympic style testing is not really for leveling the playing field but for Mayweather to have the advantage? You said it yourself.

@John B

"If Manny went up in weight to fight at 147, why can't JMM and why did Pacquiao choose to fight Cotto when he could've fought Mosley who was ranked HIGHER in both p4p and 147 rankings"

So if Pacquiao can fight at 147, why not JMM? So why not Barrera and Morales and Juan Diaz and Humberto Sotto also? Do you really think anyone can just go up in weight like that? Only the best can do that.

Why choose Mosley over Cotto? Cotto is a welterweight champion just like Mosley so why not him? That's way better than choosing a grandpa and bloating him up.

Edit:

@John B

Yeah JMM thinks he has a shot against welters but he was proven wrong. Erik Morales tried to slug it out at lightweight but also fell short.

Regarding fighting Mosley, IF you we're Pacquiao who was going up in weight class, wouldn't you test the waters first against "lesser (read second best)" fighters before banging up with the division's best? If you are a cruiser weight now who wants to go to heavyweight, would you bang straight with the Klitschko's? I doubt that you would. Again going up in weight class and fighting the second best there is WAY much better than telling somebody smaller to come and get you at your size. If you duck a bigger man, there's no shame in that. If you duck fighters your size, that's shameful.

@SirVon1s

Both? How do you "level the playing field and at the same time gain advantage"? That escapes logic.

Just another Pactard trying to discredit other boxers.

Ok, since you want to play this game. Let's take a look at Pac's last opponents and accuse him of suspicious patterns:

1. Oscar DeLaHoya - Already lost to PBF & was weight drained.

2. Ricky Hatton - Already softened up & KO'd by PBF.

3. Miguel Cotto - Damaged goods from Margacheato.

4. Josh Clottey - Came off a loss to a damaged Cotto and never won a big fight in his career.

See how idiotic your entire question is? Also want to provide proof that the drug testing was brought up after everything else was finalized? Fact was, the drug testing was brought up VERY early in the negotiations and the mediator actually released a statement that everything Top Rank released to the public (which they weren't supposed to do as per the agreement) was a LIE.

Those facts slip your little mind?

Look. All the Mayweather lovers, please watch this video. I'm sorry but, the guy interviewing him is COMPLETELY 100% right.

Manny is a great. Floyd isn't. YET. He has to beat Manny to prove it. Manny doesn't need Mayweather and much as Mayweather needs him.

If I was Manny, I'd say we can compromise on testing blood only if we fight in a smaller ring than the commission approves, use smaller gloves than the commission approves, strictly enforce clenching, holding, rabbit punching and stalling rules above and beyond what is currently sanctioned by all boxing commissions and rule books. You will lose 2 points for every illegal clench, hold, stall or rabbit punch as strictly defined and outlined in the rule books.

Then, you and your dad and uncle can come up with more strict blood testing than is currently sanctioned by the boxing commissions and current boxing rules and regulations policies.
