Question:
The decline of American HW boxing!?

Why can't Euro fans understand WHY American HW boxing is declining? This is the worst HW division in the history of boxing, where cruiserweights like Adamek and Haye are dominating, even Tyson Fury (lol), a blown up Arreola, a bunch of HW's that struggle to go 12 rounds, HW's the have totally abandoned body punching. I can't even make this stuff up, the lack of head movement, speed, power, endurance, nearly all HW's being out of shape, you can see the decline with your own eyes yet they refuse to believe it.

All of our WOULD BE HW's/ a lot of boxers are playing other sports, it's very simple to understand.

The most athletic kids will be playing Basketball, Football, Swimming, Baseball, Soccer, etc. Pretty much any sport. They'll be playing these sports for FREE, you see Euro fans, the only thing you may have to buy are pads/cleats which are cheap and if you live in a poor area they have fund raisers so no a dime comes out of your pocket. We even have summer sports.

Meanwhile I live in a city with a pop. of over 1 mill. How many free boxing gyms? Just 2, both run down with poor equipment. EVERYTHING is $30-$100 a month.

Sports rosters filled with our BEST athletes:

Middle school (kids aged 13+ which is usually the age kids start boxing)
-Football-A/B teams usually around 80 kids total
-Baseball-Around 20-30 kids
-Track/Field-Around 10-20 kids
-Soccer-20-40 kids
etc. Need I go on?

High School Football-Freshman A/B teams=40 people, Junior Varsity=20-40 people, Varsity=30-40 people around 100+ kids per school playing just that one sport.

Usually there are about 200-300 kids playing sports at a single school in America for free. Kids with crazy genetics, that are able to dunk 10 foot courts at just age 12.

I think you get the point. We literally have hundreds of thousands maybe even MILLIONS of America's best athletes playing school sports, you see there isn't a SINGLE other country like us when it comes to sports.

Class dismissed.

The greatest heavyweights in the world are playing linebacker in the NFL.

Fact.

Ken Norton Sr. broke Muhammed Ali's jaw. Ken Norton Jr. won superbowls at middlelinebacker.

Have you seen those monsters all across the league? 6-6'4, 230-270 lbs. Extremely ripped and fast. Low bodyfat and cat like.

Euro's must know that there heavyweights would not be anyone if the NFL wasn't so appealing to young black youth. Boxing is no longer the way out, it's NFL. (and other American sports)

EDIT: Ray Lewis trains with Emanuel Steward in the off-season of NFL football. Emanuel says he could be a great heavyweight. Enough said.

Why did I get voted down? The NFL is the obvious answer. OH i get why i got voted down, cause I spoke the truth about euro's religion, soccer. Well, accept it, we don't like soccer. We grow up with soccer, baseball, basketball, football (and others) and we overwelmingly don't choose soccer. That should tell you something. We have a choice here, you only really have soccer. What I mean is, we have a choice and soccer isn't the best sport. I"ve played them all. I was actually a traveling all-star in soccer when I was a kid. I grew shoulders and switched to real football.

I think you pretty much unintentionally answered your own question. I was going to say the same thing. In the US, high school athletic programs are made or broken based upon the success of their basketball, baseball, and football teams. High school scholarships lead to collegiate level programs. Success in college level programs may lead to the NBA, the MLB, and the NFL. Our elite athletes for the most part pursue these avenues. All multimillion dollar businesses with a single governing body and a players union. Most of our elite athletes are in the NFL or NBA. Now look at Europe where the major sport is soccer..and what else? I'm asking...because I really don't know. All i can think of is soccer. Where are their elite level athletes going? But anyway. You're thinking of this whole thing pretty much the same way I do. I don't have another explanation.

Also wanted to say I'm kind of a fan of Adamek. I like the dude. He won me money against Arreola anyway lol.

It seems that the fortunes of America in the heavyweights lie with its performance in the amateurs, especially the Olympics. With no American faring well in the amateurs, how can America expect good professional prospects. Of course there have been amateur standouts who bombed out in the pros and there have been amateur flunkies who made good in the pros like Mike Tyson. But what is obvious is that there's no seriousness and passion for years now in the American amateur boxing program to produce world beaters in any weight division, not just speaking of the heavyweights.

The big and athletic ones are indeed being lured in other sports. The floundering of the US economy might spark interest in excelling in sports among American poor and middle class families as a way out or to keep off poverty but then again the question is, how many would seriously and resolutely go to boxing?

A German is currently king in NBA.

And the real world's sport is the type of football which you call soccer. And you suck at football.

And are Haye and Adamek really dominating boxing? You haven't heard of the Klitschko's have you?

The heavyweight division is no different than any other division, Tfe primary reason that the division receives so much attention is because it was once known as the most coveted prize in sports....nuff said !

There is always some one that will seemingly come out of no where and dominate boxing from U.S.A. just like 'Iron' Mike Tyson did in the last half of the 1980's
