Anyone know anything about this legend's training routine?
How far he ran or his diet e.c.t?

Thanks, any feedback will be appreciated.

Actually I answered this in your other Greb question but here is a brief rundown:

6 rounds of sparring relays with different fighters from different weight classes. Smaller fighters for speed and larger men for power.

10 miles a day of roadwork.

During big fights he wwent from 6 rounds of sparring to 9 rounds and sparred so hard that he often had cuts and bruises before the fights.

Played handball.

Did heavy and speed bag punching.

Did pulleys.

Did calisthenics and stretching.

Did jump roping and lots of situps.

He ate a pretty healthy diet and only had an occasional beer with no hard stuff.

Harry Greb trained primarily by doing what fighters do best. He FOUGHT. Greb crunched over 300 fights inside of 12 and a half years as a pro. In 1917, he fought 37 times --that's THREE TIMES PER MONTH on average. Most fighters don't fight 3x per YEAR. Greb did road work when he wanted to and he wore out many speed bags and heavy bags. However, his "training" consisted mostly of just fighting and sparring. He faced every possible style of his day.

With boxing's evolution, after Greb's time, it's likely that he would have his share of troubles from latter day boxers. Anyone from that era would. However, with so many fights, Greb would be better prepared than anyone else from his era, to deal with today's diverse styles. He topped the charts in areas like Stamina and Heart. He had a swarming style which he knew would be difficult for any fighter to defend against. This is why he was able to fight so often and keep his loss percentage so low in so many fights. There was virtually nothing he had not dealt with in the ring.

Every fighter had something, some style that troubled him. With Greb, he had fewer problems than nearly every fighter because FIGHT is all he ever did. It's simple. You do enough of ANY type of fighting and there isn't much more you need to learn.

Word had it for many years that Greb's training consisted of coursing, that the man hated to train, and so on.

Here's is a clip of Greb training:

In this clip, Greb shadow boxes, jumps rope, hits the speed bag, and various other methods, like leg exercises, lots of stretching, and sparring. It's a great clip. It starts off slow, but then reverts to normal speed. Hope that helps!
