very often i hear people call cooney overrated but i think that gerry was actually a good boxer,he was big and he had a lotof power but he was not some slow slugger he actually knew how to box, big john tate was also an ok fighter but i have been more impressed with cooney who was a little more versatile than big john....so i think cooney would win this one by ko in the mid rounds.

I think Cooney had a better punch, and Big John was a disappointment to me. I don't think he was tough enough.

Cooney wins and it is not going to take 15 rounds.

big john tate would be winning until the first big left hook cooney lands on his jaw, tate would probably finish the fight face first in the canvas.

Joe Bugner said that Cooney's hook was harder than Joe Frazier's.

Cooney KO by round 5.

John Tate became an somewhat vast guy and curiously tremendously stable till he met Weaver. After that he merely fizzled. I parent that Floyd became merely too quickly and confident, could desire to punch somewhat too. distinctive sort of warring parties. Patterson IMO by the two late around stoppage or decision.

two overated fighters who anybody could care less about now but id say cooney wins by ko late in fight
