Norman,
The bottom line is that Pacquiao and Cotto are both more lucrative than Shane. If it was not cherry-picky for Manny to pick Cotto, it's not cherry picking for Floyd to either (especially if he beats Manny). I thinkk it will be good for Floyd's legacy to beat a legitamate Welterweight (not that Baldomir and Judah were not)...but people need a reminder. This is prize fighting and you fight for the biggest money fights. I say this si the direction Floyd goes.
A) If manny beats Cotto (which is what I expect), Floyd should fight Manny. I dont wanna hear the little opponent arguement because Floyd was little against Oscar, Carlos Baldomir, Arturo Gatti, and Jose Luis Castillo. Floyd came back to fight the best and this will mean lots of money. If Floyd beats Manny he should then get Shane then Cotto.
B) If Cotto wins Floyd should fight him. A win over Pacquiao would make Cotto a megastar...Floyd can be the first to legitamately beat him (considering the wrap controversy with Margarito. If Cotto beats Manny, Floyd should beat Cotto...then Shane. Manny won't be a neccessary opponent at that point. He wont be number 1 and he will be seen as another little opponent who Cotto already derailed, so Shane should be his next target,
Shane should be his last opponent unless for pride sake...like Judah he wants to teach him and the boxing world a lesson.
Norman, I'm glad you know the real history of Floyd chasing Shane...Shane is desperate. Floyd should not reward his desparation and disrespect with a big pay day. Mosley only gets a big payday as a real star's opponent, whether it's Pacquiao, Mayweather or Cotto.
I actually want Floyd to eventually fight a Middleweight and take their title to prove his skill and get a title in a 6th weight class. Looking at the Middleweight landscape this is possible.
