When Mike Tyson lost to Evander Holyfield in their first fight, he knew he would have to have some sort of back-up plan the next time. I don't know how he came up with biting the ear, but I'm pretty sure it was planned far in advance of the rematch.
The way I see it, Tyson just wasn't focused in this fight. He wasn't doing that bad, but he may not have been able to realize it. He only saw the referee not doing anything about Holyfield using the head, and when he saw the opening he went for it. Then it was pretty much over and he wasn't hesitant about going to the other ear and taking another chomp.
Regardless, I'm sure that it wasn't because he hadn't eaten, and I doubt he even noticed what Holyfield's ears tasted like.

I saw the fight Holyfield was dominating Tyson, Tyson was frustrated and couldn't land any big punches. Whenever Holyfield would score points Tyson would clinched and get frustrated. He actually head butted him a couple of times, and bit him twice, the second time he bit the ear off. So to answer your question, i think he wanted to get disqualified to save himself from getting knocked out. Since this, Tyson has become even more reckless getting disqualified over stupid behaviour, like punching after the bell. He was a B grade fighter at his best and never wanted to fight Holyfield in the first place. Don't forget Buster Douglas knocked him out!

Hell no. that isn't canine scuffling with, headbutting could be unlawful and grimy, yet that would not provide you the nicely suited to chew a motherf*ckers ear off, and then do it returned. Tyson had no precise to do what he did. He knew he replaced into gonna get beat merely like their first combat, and he took the main unusual elementary way out he could desire to. there is not any justification in what he did.

He wasn't thinking. He was loosing the match to Evander for the second time and he just lost his temper and did what he did. It was a terrible way to behave and one of the worst moments in boxing history.

he probably hadn't eaten all day. No seriousely, he must have had some problems or an immence argument with someone before the fight began. this could have seriousely affect his range of thought and narrowed his mind to one overpowering feeling: anger.
