Are professional boxers tested for steroid use? Or are steroids OK in boxing?

Yes. Boxers get tested and it is NOT ok. It's illegal.



Boxing is actually the only sport that does serious testing for steroids.



But they only do it randomly for non-title fights, and even for a famous title fight, they usually test after the fight has happened. (James Tony got stripped of his win and belt after testing positive, Fernado Vargas got suspended for a year and lost 10% of his money for a fight) Even though a fighter can use steroids a few times and not get caught, boxing is still the hardest sport to use steroids in cause they test more and give out harder penalties than the other sports.
