Question:
Am I the only one who likes the idea of a Pacquiao-Mosley fight?

I think that if the fight with Mayweather can't be made, a Pacquiao-Mosley fight would be a good alternative. People will criticize Pacquiao for fighting Mosley after Mayweather defeated him, but it wasn't like Mosley was destroyed and knocked out. He was just...embarrased by Mayweather. But Mosley did show that he still has warrior spirit in him, even if he's getting older. Just look at Round 2.

I also have this feeling that Mosley wanted Pacquiao a lot more than he wanted Mayweather. If this fight is made, I feel that Sugar will be super motivated to win the fight. Pacquiao's the fight he wants, and he's gonna go all out to prove to the boxing skeptics that he can still bring game to the ring. Just like how Margarito was determined and trained hard for the Pacquiao fight to redeem himself and prove that he is still a big topic in boxing (he failed miserably, though).
Also, I don't really believe that it's possible to gauge how much Mosley has left based on the Mora fight. That fight was fought at light middleweight, where Mosley has not been particularly successful. Mosley's light middleweight highlights are a close decision win over De La Hoya and two wins over Fernando Vargas. Two of his losses (to Winky Wright) come from that division. Another fight at Welterweight would better gauge how much gas Mosley has left.

And, I'm not exactly sure there are any other opponents for Manny other than Mosley and Mayweather. I highly doubt Pacquiao would be willing to fight Williams or Martinez. Not because he's ducking them, but simply because the size advantage is far too much. I think Williams and Martinez would beat him solely based on the fact that he is too small and can't handle their overwhelming weight. The idea of a 9th world title is attractive, but it's not enough to convince Pacquiao, a natural junior welterweight, to move up to middleweight.
The only other guy of interest is Marquez, and he's two weight classes below Manny. Everyone else wouldn't really stand a chance against Pacquiao. Andre Berto is a good champion, but even he (or maybe it was his manager) believes he still needs one big fight before he could challenge Pacquiao. Cotto was already beaten and Arum is looking to match Cotto and Margarito again. Alexander and Bradley are good, but they're junior welterweights. Bradley had one fight at Weltweight, and was far too wild against Abregu. I think Pac would dismantle of him easily. Alexander's last win, a decision over Kotelnik, is very iffy.

So all in all, Pacquiao-Mosley is the only real alternative, because Mosley is a far better draw than Berto/Bradley/Alexander. Though Marquez is another good alternative.

I would say that yes, you are.

Mosley is not what he used to be, Pacman will KO him.

The only fight I'm interested in is a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout.

Great points but let's be honest Mosley is done and if you need more proof look at this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z55SFt4nPSE

A Prime Mosley would have destroyed Mora irregardless oh Mora's "careful style" and despite Mosleys first couple of rounds with Floyd he still was man handled even though he was not ko'd (Mosley is still to good to get KO'd) Mosleys last great performance was against Margarito and I think that is is personally.

As a boxing fan I think that if Mayweather still does not want to fight then Manny should either retire or consider facing some up and comer because quite frankly NO ONE beats manny right now, the only guy that gets close is Floyd but if he and Manny cannot agree then their are no interesting fights out there.

Marquez 3? nope manny ends this one in a knockout since Marquez has not gotten any younger

Cotto 2? no no and no Cotto is not the same.

Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez? unless these two surpass the first fight (which I think they will) then I don't know if Bob wants to put Manny in such circumstances.

Still though all that it still leaves Mosley but at this stage he will just be another punching bag for a couple thousand a round.

I know that Mosley's fans still believe that he can win against Pacquiao ... and there's nothing wrong with that.

However, I really think Mosley no longer have what it takes to win against Pacquiao. The Mosley that I saw fight against Floyd stopped throwing punches after the 2nd round ... and then later started breathing from his mouth not even halfway of the entire fight. His fight with Mora was a snooze-fest and just showed that he is no longer the same Mosley that pummeled Margarito.

To be honest, I think pitting Margarito and Mosley is a better idea. The Margarito that I saw fight Pacquiao had tremendous amount of heart. More than what I saw in Mosley in his last 2 fights. Besides, Margarito wants to prove that he can win w/o a brick in his gloves ... maybe, he can prove it against Mosley?

But hey, people are accusing Pacquiao of ducking black americans ... so maybe this fight is going to be exciting for them.

I agree with you. Others may say Mosley's over the hill, but the current Mosley would be the toughest opponent Pac has faced to date and everyone knows it. Much tougher than Cotto, Margarito, Marquez. I would not want to see Pac fighting these drained bigger fighters anymore. I want to see him fight someone with comparable speed and quickness. Pac is an good fighter with many accolades, but the styles of his opponents have been pretty much the same for the past few years. We already know he can dismantle flat-footed, slow fighters which is why anyone who knows the least bit about boxing knew that Margarito stood NO CHANCE against Pacquiao. Put him in the ring with a Mayweather, Mosley, or even Berto then you will see the difference.

Well first of all, Pacquiao would not move up to Middleweight if he can't even make Junior Middleweight.

second, Mosley could hurt Pacquiao a little bit and it's true we haven't seen what he can do yet but, he is getting old so it's no surprise if Pacquiao beats him. Now Mosley in his prime fighting Pacquiao I would love to see cuz I know Mosley would beat him. It's not Pacquiao's fault, but Roach won't put him in the ring with anyone who he thinks can beat Pacquiao.

Pac vs Berto seems like the most realistic fight in which critics wont crtisize Manny for if he chose the old defeated Mosley
